Handmade pottery vase or unique garden planter; designer statement piece
My freshman year was spent at the Savannah College of Art and Design in 1986, and after, moved back home to Montgomery, AL to attend studies at Auburn University. I apprenticed at a non-profit community center outside Atlanta, GA where I took classes to refine my techniques.
My work echoes the glorious colored rocks and fossils I collected as a child. I marveled the candy tourmaline greens, shiny faceted smokey quartz crystals and black obsidian -- all held in my curious hands. My earth is smooth inside with dry, cracked sun-drenched outer layers, fire scorched and broken, yet still functional.
